2 Key Appointments for Dublins Metrolink
Sean Sweeney has been appointed to the role of Project Director of Dublin’s Metrolink project by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) following an extensive search. Sweeney is a Kiwi and leaves his post as CEO of City Rail Link– a $5.5bn, 3.5km double track rail tunnel in Auckland which is nearing completion to take up the Dublin based role. The Irish Government has sanctioned a basic salary of €550k for the role.
Meanwhile Turner & Townsend have appointed Michael
McBrearty to the role of Delivery Director working closely with TII on the
Metrolink project. His role will oversee procurement of the so called M500 –
PPP package which includes the provision of Rolling Stock. McBrearty was
formerly MD of Investments with Equitix where he was involved in putting
together bid teams for PPP projects in Scotland and Ireland.
